St. Rita of Casia

The Order of the Discalced Augustinians (OAD), Philippine Province of St. Nicholas of Tolentino and the Diocese of Butuan with the cooperations of the Hermandad and the Divine Mercy & St. Augustine House presents the RELIQUARY-IMAGE of St Rita of Cascia Pilgrimage in the Diocese of Butuan.

In the chest of this image are fragments of the BONES, VEIL & HABIT of St Rita.

St. Rita of Casia is a holy woman who lived extraordinary lives. She is the patron saint of the difficult marriages, impossible causes, infertility, and parenthood.

This pilgrimage promotes devotion to St. Rita of Casia, an Augustian Nun, to all Parishes of the  Diocese of Butuan.

The following schedules per parishes are as follows, on April 30 at 6:00 am will arrive at the port of Nasipit then procession will follow in the evening and overnight stay at the St. Micheal Parish, Nasipit, Butuan City. On May 1 will proceeds to St. James the Great Parish, Buenavista in the morning, then will proceed to the Sto. Nino Shrine at Libertad in the afternoon and then it will stay overnight in St. Joseph’s Cathedral. On May 2, at Holy Cross Parish, Ampayon, in the afternoon and stay overnight in OAD Seminary’s chapel at the Ampayon, Butuan City.

Blessing of Roses & distribution of the Blessed Oil and veneration of the holy relics of St Rita in every Parishes.

The organizers hope that as we share and witness the life & virtues of this heroic saint, we may able also to respond God’s call to be saints, in our little ways with great love.
